That sounds like a fun road trip to me. I made a car purchase on Ebay, and drove it back to the northeast from the mid-Atlantic to save a few bucks. Totally normal!
Interesting statement in the article of “ burning batteries scattered across the roadway“. I suppose thermal runaway halts pretty quick when cells are no longer next to one another. I call that a design feature.
Thanks for sharing this. I had a similar issue at the Scarborough ME EA station. The session did not automatically authenticate. The Lucid app asked to confirm the station, but only listed the four stalls 50 miles away in Kittery ME. EA customer service rebooted the charger, but issue...
I agree, the seatbelt warning is far louder than necessary. I’m still not in the habit of avoiding the break pedal while entering the car. My natural instinct is to hit the brake immediately. Perhaps the result of driving a manual shift for a million years.
I assume the error message was displayed by the car. I have had this error at an EA station. It appeared to me the charger was not communicating with the car, and eventually the car displayed a charge error. I switched to another charger and the session authenticated. The issue with 110v...
Congrats on your purchase. Is it the RWD version? My original order was RWD, but that turned into AWD with the free upgrade last year. I believe it has longer range, which is what I was after.
Leave the car at 30% and in a cold environment. That is what Dr. Jeff Dahn at Dalhousie University has been recommending from LIB studies. This leaves the battery in a lower electro-chemical and thermal reactive state.
Here's a presentation he made.
