I came from a Tesla and my other car is a Model X. I realize I’m much more of a software person than hardware. Not a personal fan of the poor implementation of CarPlay

I was unable to effectively do a wire tap into the rearview mirror for my radar detector and I figured then the easiest thing to do is to actually run a very long cable to the 12 V outlet in the trunk. I’m trying to route the wire through the trim, but having some difficulty getting it through...

Was able to get it to plug in but couldn’t put together the housing back together to lock into place. And in fiddling around with it the wire tap got dislodged. Going to abandon the wire tap route. Now have to figure out how to get the housing back together without making a service appointment...

Definitely a frustrating process. I do have a spray paint can top that’s jammed in between. I’m trying to hold the white connector with one hand while trying to insert these pins with the right hand. I’m having a hard time jamming the pins alongside the existing red and black wires. Did anybody...

Thanks so much for this. Noob at doing this but are you just feeding those wires in alongside an existing red and black cable or you connecting it some other way? If you didn’t remove the trim closer to the mirror how did you get the cable out?
