How do you decide whether to play a game adaptation or watch the movie first?
I keep running into this with franchises like The Last of Us, Fallout, and Arcane. If a game becomes a movie or series, do you prefer experiencing the original story through gameplay first, or watching the adaptation and then trying the game? Does one version spoil the other for you?

I usually play the game first. Gameplay gives you time to connect with the characters and world, while a movie or show is easier to finish in one evening. But if the adaptation is highly praised, I might watch it first and treat the game as a deeper follow-up.

I tend to watch the adaptation first if it is shorter, then play the game for the full story. That happened with Arcane: I watched it, got curious about the lore, and only then looked more into the game universe. When a game has technical issues or account questions, I sometimes check pages like pchgames customer service contacts before committing more time. Either way, I avoid spoilers as much as possible.
