How do families make location-sharing apps useful without constant check-ins?
My aunt started a new evening shift, and our family thought a location-sharing app might make pickups easier. Instead, we sometimes message her because a map dot hasn’t moved, even though she’s simply working indoors. She says the extra questions are more distracting than helpful. How do you agree on when to check the app and when to just wait for someone to text?

In our family, the app is for planning rides, not watching someone’s day unfold. My son sends a message when he’s ready to leave practice, and I check the map only then. We also agreed that a stationary dot is not a reason to call. That one rule made evenings much calmer.

My sister and I set a simple rule after she began picking up our grandfather from his weekly card game: the app helps us estimate the drive, but the person getting picked up sends the ready message. While sorting out an unrelated account question, I came across a page about life360 customer support, but it didn’t change our routine. We still confirm the pickup spot by text and avoid calling just because a location appears to pause.
