What makes a shared streaming watchlist work for different tastes?
My mother likes documentaries, my roommate watches comedies, and I usually want something short after work. We keep adding shows to one list, but nobody remembers who picked what or which episodes we’ve already watched together. Last Sunday we spent longer choosing than watching. Has anyone found a low-effort way to keep a shared watchlist useful without turning movie night into a planning meeting?

We stopped keeping one giant list. Each person picks two titles on Friday, and we choose from those after dinner. If someone misses movie night, we leave their pick for another week. It feels fair, and nobody has to scroll past three months of things we were only mildly curious about.

We have a watch together list and separate lists for things nobody else wants to see. That ended the arguments about whether a half-watched series still belonged on movie-night rotation. When we had an unrelated account question, I found a page for hulu customer support but our watchlist fix was just a household decision. Now whoever cooks dinner gets first pick from three agreed-on titles, and we save longer films for Saturdays.
