Why do metasearch sites show prices that disappear when you click through?
I found a great hotel rate on a comparison site for my weekend trip, but when I clicked View Deal, the price jumped by 30%. This happens almost every time I shop for hotels. Are these bait prices, or is there a legitimate reason behind the sudden increases?

Usually it’s timing and cache. Metasearch engines pull rates from multiple sources, and some are slightly outdated. By the time you click through, the hotel or OTA may have updated pricing due to demand, taxes, or fees that weren’t included in the initial display. Always check the final breakdown before booking.
