So my 2023 AT won't go to sleep. My garage and bedroom is fairly close to one another but I pause my Lucid app to disconnect any comms between app and car. Losing 15% charge just sitting there all day not sleeping. Fixes? Thoughts?

After putting a HUGE note on the start button to remind you, put your keys in a microwave since it’s a natural faraday cage and see if that makes a difference 👍

Or just take the battery out of the fob temporarily.

If you have the standard keyfob nearby, it will communicate with the car.

Personally, I do not use the Mobile Key. I also do not use the Lucid App as a key, since it's incredibly unreliable.

I only use the keyfob (Passive Lock + Unlock), and drop it into one of these after entering the house. This isolates it from the car, regardless of distance. Never seen a drain issue with the car or the keyfob since.

Dumb question, forgive me - do you lock the vehicle when not using it?

Sorry forgot to mention...key fob loves inside a strong faraday cage box ...issue is mobile key. Yea I lock the car when I walk away.

That would have been too easy 😄

You said you pause the app to prevent comms.. I'm not sure if this would have the effect you're intending. The application may be disabled but your mobile would still retain the Bluetooth connections to the car. It may even exacerbate the problem if the car keeps retrying connections to the dead application via that Bluetooth connection.

If you remove the application and unpair the two Lucid Bluetooth devices does the car sleep properly? Apologies if you've already gone through this on your own.

I do not believe that pausing or quitting the app we will disable mobile key. Instead, you should probably turn off Bluetooth.

I've had my mobile Bluetooth off and battery from fob removed for over 3hrs now and my car is still connected to my phone (Because the buttons on my widget are active not greyed out) and the car continues to lose charge... Yesterday I charged it up to 90%..and now it's 3pm it's at 70%...20% loss on under 24hrs.

Time to contact service. Something's not right.

Your car being connected to your phone has nothing to do with mobile key. You should lose maybe 1/4 of 1% per day max. Are you sure both the fobs are accounted for? Any other devices with the app on them?

Also insure that there are no belts buckled or anything heavy sitting on the seats. Open and close all doors, frunk, and trunk. I’d do a reboot as well.

Yeah still continuing to lose charge. Yes, both fobs are accounted for...one I do not use never had a battery inserted...the one I use is inside a faraday cage....I'm gonna sleep with my phone shut off completely...let's see tomorrow what happens...I just charged my car before bed to 86%...hopefully it doesnt discharge all night...

Done. Thanks.

Whatever the result, it's time to call service. This isn't normal.

Alright, dying to know what happened...😅
Zero% loss overnight after shutting my phone off all night...the buttons on my widget are finally greyed out..the fun part? The widget states that the data updated just one minute ago...so...the app is connected to the phone AND yet the buttons on the widget are greyed out which is how it should be...the unknown to me now is ..when does the widget grey out? What are the conditions under which the car sleeps yet the trickle of data it sends to the app doesn't wake the car up so it loses charge....all these questions after 3 years of owning the car!

Glad to hear that you have narrowed down the problem. Honestly, when I hear about weird stuff that involves communication with the phone, it's an unpopular position, but I think the problem is often the phone. If restarting the phone doesn't solve the issue, I would remove the widget, app and unpair the phone and car. Then restart the phone and start over, reinstalling the app, widget and re-pairing the phone. It a pain, but it's amazing how fast it goes the third or fourth time around 😉

Then it's tine to call service if that fails.

Once I started living the FOB life, my Air experience has improved dramatically. The phone as a key proved to be a total fail in my personal experience. I still use the phone app to unlock and so forth, but no more standing in the rain for 23 seconds waiting for things to sync up. The one downside is the FOB is a slippery little thing so I need to source a cover or similar that will give it some grip in my pocket.

I tend to agree that it appears to be the phone not the car...having said that, I also suspect that Android Auto from the car aggressively tries to connect to the phone so it may be interfering somehow...I'll never know. As of now the widget is updating every so often but not waking the car up. I also did do a reboot of the car last night...the X.mic and brake reset so maybe I just need to remember to do that every 2 weeks or so...Just wish some of this was more scientific and we didn't have to guess this much after 3 years of owning the car...
