Mix feelings after 1 week of ownership

Interesting. Wonder if there's a different spec on Pure vs Touring. I'm 6'2" 200 and never had any issues getting in and out. Love the easy entry seat/wheel thing too.

    Key fob battery usage

Is this kind of pouch the only solution we have found? My first fob lasted like 4 months and since I have had a new battery like every 3 weeks and it's now too annoying. I've read everything on Bobby's site and tried to deal with the battery coating to no avail. Was there a pouch/box you liked...

Real world range touring 19 inch wheels

I'm a 19" Touring in TX. Lifetime 3.2 - almost entirely city driving in Dallas Road trip up to OKC and back got me 3.8 at an average speed of ~80-85. I drive pretty fun. Which certainly hurts efficiency. I bet I could be above 4 on a trip for sure at a lower speed and with less aggressive...

    Regenerative braking

Why would that matter? "When SOC is too high for regen, the car will automatically blend normal brakes in to simulate the same driving experience. When the battery can accept charge, the maximum regen possible will be used, as always."

    Regenerative braking

Yeah it really would. Possibly number one on my list at this point. It's the only feature I'm missing that actually feels like it creates danger. Others are just creature comforts to me.

About to be a lucid leaser, a few questions please

I'm in Dallas, feels like you definitely need some shading or something for the roof. When we were testing, that glass canopy was HOT in aug/sep. So hot that I went with metal roof and a Touring and that was the primary factor. I'd trust folks like DeaneG if the shade things work! I really...

    USAA Lucid Experience

Weird. My experience was a fast, easy claim with no questions, paid out immediately with no issues. Far better than I expected for a brand new car from a brand new manufacturer. They've actually proactively reached out to send someone to come assess potential claims after major storms, e.g...

    USAA Lucid Experience

I've never banked with them (use NFCU) but had a perfect, smooth, fast experience with them pre, during, and post claim on our Lucid getting front panel and mirror replaced. I don't know why a non-member would expect the same level of service as a member, but that's a whole other data point. I...

    Tow hook license plate holder

FWIW I just installed the license plate holder as designed. Have never understood the desire not to have one. I spent about an hour looking for alternatives and was like "this is dumb why not just do the normal thing." Food for thought.

    Valet parking Lucid Air Touring

Interesting and good to know. Haven't had to valet anywhere yet and feels like I probably won't.

Does the credit card looking key thing not just let valets drive it at a restricted speed?

    First road trip - TX/OK

Awesome. I will give it a try. And still stand by the point that it's a silly mechanism :)

    First road trip - TX/OK

I will try this. I tried a number of different holds, but all of them were like where my hands were on the wheel in semi normal spots, high/low/etc but opposite sides. Torque-wise: do you mean like left to right? or like front to back? Wouldn't left to right torque literally steer the vehicle...

    Wind noise

I just spent 6 hours at ~80mph over two days in my '23 Air Touring and it was far and away the quietest and most comfortable ride I've ever had in a car.

    First road trip - TX/OK

Okie doke: 220 mile trip each way, for a total of 440 miles. Started at 100%, drove the full 220 to my first charging stop. Had the bump mentioned, but then it was ok and charging worked. Half an hour, 35% to 85%. Leg two was back down 80 miles, starting at 80% (did a little driving around...

    First road trip - TX/OK

Better trip home so far. Knew I'd have to stop. So I figured let's try HA at 85 and see what happens. Had me down around 3.4, which dropped down to 3.2 with preconditioning kicked in. Charging up from 45 to 85% right now, which should be more than enough to get home safely. Aside from the...

    First road trip - TX/OK

Final update for today: stopping at 85%. Charging just dipped below 50, and I can always come back here again before heading home if I'm worried about juice. Given I arrived at 35% I'm much less worried now.
