Since the very beginning of the Dream Edition Airs, the front windshield production has changed several times to allow for EZPass transmission. Mine has this "cut-out" as well.

That would be unfortunate, since service units are typically profit centers for traditional car "dealerships." Now that original Airs are going out of warranty, service calls will be charged.
